Jayne, you write clearly, uncomplicated information that we don't often find elsewhere. Your straight forward information on fat might hopefully persuade those who find it hard to dismiss the brain washing of decades, to finally enjoy animal fats again, as we did when children. Thank you.

Such wonderful, clear common sense! Thank you. I share these sentiments wholeheartedly. In fact, I often find with my clients that as they start to feel better with a remedy, they naturally gravitate towards the healthiest food (and lifestyle!) for them. And otherwise, most informed people benefit from doing less, rather than more. There is so much complex information out there -- our ancestors did not need to take 15 supplements to sleep at night! I've found that simple is easier, more effective, and saves a ton of mental energy.

I was recently in a conversations where the topic of vegetable oils was brought up - vegetable oils are a made up concept - there are no vegetables that actual oil is made from that we could clarify - those that may come to mind ie: avocado or pumpkin, sunflower or macadamia, olive and flax are actually fruit, nut or seed... and most of the rest are an over processed, gm or entirely synthetic product. Food for thought..... thanks for your article Jayne.

When you suggest avoiding vegetable oils, should I assume this includes olive oil ..? Can you suggest alternatives? I use bacon grease and butter frequently but when recipes call for "2 tablespoons of vegetable oil" do you suggest swapping butter for those?

Cold pressed oils are minimally processed and are fine to use. I use olive and coconut oils for cooking. All cold pressed oils are fine used raw.

Processed vegetable oils are solvent extracted with high heat and pressure. They are often manufactured from the crud left over from cold pressing which still contains up to 50% oil. This type of processed oil is commonly used to make margarine. This is what I mean to avoid as best as possible.

The same goes for fish oil too!

Always seek cold pressed oils.
