Argentium nitricum
Arg nit is a good first aid remedy for anticipation anxiety. Before an event the person may have diarrhoea and increased urge to urinate, going to the bathroom multiple times before the appointment. This may also lead to sleeplessness leading up to the event due to anxiety and nerves. In extreme states of anxiety, heart palpitations may occur which are aggravated by lying on the right side.
In the general state there may be anxiety about health with fear of death.
In an acute state such as a fever, there may be fear of death and like Aconite he may predict the time of death. This is not that the person will die or is indeed close to death, it is a delusion brought about by the state of the their mind and body at the time. This delusion may also manifest as impulsiveness with a desire to harm themselves. The may feel chilly but uncomfortable under blankets as it makes them feel smothered.
There are many eye symptoms and this remedy may be useful in conjunctivitis or ulcers on the cornea. There will be associated photophobia with eye symptoms.
Digestive symptoms of bloating, burping and diarrhoea may be helped by Arg nit. The bloating may be quite strong, aggravated by many foods but especially sugar. Diarrhoea accompanies most complaints. Flatulence and eructations may be loud, even sounding like a machine gun!
There is a great desire to eat sweet foods but they make the patient feel worse. Even a breast fed baby may experience diarrhoea if the mother eats too many sweets, in this case the mother can take the remedy and it will help the baby through the breast milk. Of course having the mother stop eating a lot of sweets is helpful as well.
The anxiety state described above may lead to a stomach ulcer, blood in vomit maybe an indicator of this, which will need to be medically investigated.
In sore throats there is a sensation like a splinter or fish bone in the throat. Hepar sulph also has this symptom but with opposite modalities. Arg nit is better for cold applications / drinks and Hepar sulph is better for warmth.
Blueness may come through in, blue finger tips and toes in cold extremities, blue lips. This may be seen in people who habitually take colloidal silver and is a sign they are taking toxic amounts.
Although colloidal silver is a great disinfectant and is used to help burns heal, silver is considered a heavy metal and it should be used judiciously.
