Ipecac is a remedy to be thought of when symptoms are associated with vomiting which brings no relief.
Coughing ends in vomiting
Asthma attacks of children (especially 7 – 12 years old) coughs a little bit then vomits
Whooping cough where child looses their breath and vomits.
Intermittent fever accompanied by nausea and vomiting
Nausea following radiation treatment, sometimes with vomiting
Concomitant that may occur with the nausea and vomiting include
increased salivation which can be profuse (like Merc)
lack of thirst
sensation as if the stomach is hanging down
Another characteristic is gushing.
The vomiting comes in gushes.
Haemorrhages come in gushes. A large amount of blood passes, slows then repeats. Haemorrhage may come from any body orifices, the blood does not coagulate easily and is accompanied by nausea.
In fever, there are chills that go up and down the spine accompanied by excessive salivation.
