Angry and capricious

The situation where this remedy helps is when anger is the most prominent concomitant symptom to an ailment. Angry children that are inconsolable, even nasty, you give them the toy they ask for and then they throw it across the room. Rhythmic movements help, a baby or small child wants to be carried and rocked, happily preferring a vigorous up and down bounce with the screaming starting as soon as the obliging parent stops the motion.

This intense irritability will be seen with fevers also. The fever usually takes time to develop, coming on over a few days, whereas Aconite and Belladonna come on suddenly. One sided redness is noted, this may be one hot and red cheek, the other cold and pale, one ear red the other not. In babies there may be stool like chopped eggs and spinach with a strong sulphur odour.

Earaches and colic may also be helped when accompanied by these types of symptoms.

Dentition: This remedy is famous for helping teething babies. I used it very successfully when my son was a baby. The uncontrollable screaming stopped completely 5 minutes after a dose. I rarely needed to repeat the remedy until the next tooth came through.

This remedy will also be helpful for toothache in older people. The tooth pain feels unbearable and is aggravated by either warm or cold coming into the mouth.

The pains of chamomilla are unbearable, driving the person to despair. There may be numbness with the pains.
